Amalienborg - Frederik VIII's Palace

As a part of the refurbishment of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s new home at Amalienborg palace, Frederik VIII's palace ten contemporary Danish artists were invited to decorate the palace. The decorations are located in the official rooms of the palace and have been chosen in close corporation with the Crown Prince couple who personally selected the invited artists.


The following artists, who are represented by the gallery, have participated in the decoration of Frederik VIII’s palace: Jesper Christiansen, Eske Kath, Signe Guttormsen, and Kathrine Ærtebjerg.


Jesper Christiansen has made a mural painting in the Vestibule while Eske Kath has painted a huge ceiling and Kathrine Ærtebjerg has made the decoration for the serving pantry. Signe Guttormsen made a site specific work at the roof terrace at the palace.
