Lucy Teasdale

Lucy Teasdale (born 1984) explores sculpture through her use of diverse materials and methods during the making process. Starting from drawings, Teasdale figures attain a formal abstract language that references both a wide range art history and portrayal everyday objects.

Teasdale uses a number of synthetic materials with which she casts each of her monochromatic sculptures. In addition to this, the artists also uses toys in her work which she then modifies; loading them with references to literature and pop culture. Teasdale began her studies at the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, she then studied at Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie under Tony Cragg.

Teasdale lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
